'Limitless' Season 1 Recap, Spoilers: FBI Taps On Finch's Drug-Induced Ability in 'Badge! Gun!'
CBS' new small screen series and continuation to the 2011 Bradley Cooper-led movie "Limitless" managed to stand on its own two feet as manifested with the raving positive reviews for its pilot episode.
For those who missed it (spoilers ahead), the show opener introduces Brian Finch (Jake McDorman), a lonely, underachiever guy who happens to come across with the miracle pill, NZT. It was the same drug that Cooper's film character took which enables him to have close to superhuman cognitive and physical abilities.
For Finch, the NZT was given to him by his former co-band member who left the group to become a very successful broker. Finch instantly realized that this is the very thing that he needs to correct his life as well as save his father by finding out the reason of his ailment. Needless to say, and just like what happened in the movie, Finch got caught up in a murdering spree that involved those who used the drug.
Down the line, he met Eddie Mora (Cooper) who is now a senator and is already on his way for presidency. Through him, Finch was able to gain a much larger perspective about the wonder drug.
Later on, the FBI strikes a deal with Finch. In exchange for the life of his ailing dad, he must lend his limitless mental and physical powers to help the Bureau crack some of the unsolvable cases.
All is expected to be well except for what the synopsis over at the Futon Critic hinted for Episode 2 titled "Badge! Gun!"
According to the summary, Finch places his new FBI job on the line when he gets involved in the investigation of a renowned journalist's murder.
How will Rebecca (Jennifer Carpenter), the agent who recruited Finch, answer for Finch's break of protocol?
Find out when "Limitless" airs this Tuesday, September 29, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
