Lindsay Lohan Arrested Following Hit and Run Accident
Lindsay Lohan has been arrested for allegedly hitting a pedestrian with her vehicle while driving in downtown Manhattan, NY., on Wednesday.
Lohan, 25, reportedly struck the knee of a man in his 30s while attempting to park a Porsche Cayenne outside of the Dream Hotel at approximately 2 a.m. ET. Despite the accident, Lohan proceeded inside the hotel after checking the vehicle for damages.
An unidentified witness called police who arrested Lohan upon her exit of the hotel. She was reprimanded for leaving the scene of an accident, which is a misdemeanor offense in the state of New York, according to TMZ.
Lohan was eventually released with a desk appearance ticket, and did not have to post any bail. The victim, who allegedly did not have visible wounds, was hospitalized.
The incident could potentially become a probation violation with respect to Lohan's 2011 jewelry heist case in which the "Mean Girls" star was convicted of theft of a necklace.
She was subsequently sentenced to 120 days in jail and 480 hours of community service for misdemeanor theft and probation violation, to which she had pleaded no contest.
The matter comes just weeks after Lohan was identified as a suspect in a $100,000 jewelry heist, after her friend, Sam Magid, reported various watches and sunglasses stolen from his Hollywood Hills residence. He later recanted his story and the matter is believed to have been dropped by authorities.
In April, Lohan was accused of nightclub battery after an unidentified woman filed an incident report with the West Hollywood Sheriff's Department. Although the actress has denied having any involvement in the incident, the matter reportedly remains unresolved.
Lohan has allegedly been in court at least 19 times since being arrested in 2007. Additionally, she has spent at least 250 days in rehab, 35 days in home confinement, has completed 67 days of community service, spent 19 days in court and has made six trips to jail, according to CNN.
