Lisa Robin Kelly Divorce Comes After Husband is Arrested for Domestic Battery

Lisa Robin Kelly, former star of "That '70s Show," is divorcing husband Robert Gilliam two weeks after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The couple was married for two years.

Kelly and Gilliam have not had the most stable relationship; in November 2012, they were both arrested for assaulting one another at their home in North Carolina. Kelly was arrested in April 2012 for domestic abuse of Gilliam. A new fight is what led Kelly to file for divorce, according to reports.

Kelly allegedly refused to empty her bank account and Gilliam reacted in a violent manner, pulling her hair and throwing her to the ground before choking her. Thankfully a neighbor heard the argument and phoned police; when they arrived, Kelly said that Gilliam had threatened to shoot her. He was arrested and Kelly filed a restraining order as well as divorce papers.

Gilliam was convicted of domestic battery and must serve three years' probation and attend a 52-week domestic violence program and stay at least 100 yards away from Kelly, TMZ reported.

Kelly has had problems with alcohol abuse and drunk driving; her latest arrest came as no surprise to anyone. She was arrested for suspected DUI when police responded to a call of a vehicle blocking a lane of traffic on the freeway and subsequently failed a field sobriety test.

Last year she spoke to ABC News to address drug and alcohol abuse rumors and adamantly denied using either.

"Absolutely not," she replied when asked if she was on drugs. "There is nothing I was on or abusing at the time. My poor mother has to see that picture. That's not what I look like. That's not me."

"With 'That '70s Show' I was guilty of a drinking problem. I had lost a baby. As a result of that, I lost it. I lost everything and I was abusing alcohol. I am not running from this," Kelly explained. "I have paid my dues and if I can make it through this I can make it through anything."

Kelly cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for her divorce from Gilliam.
