Liverpool vs. West Brom Live Stream: Watch League Cup Football
Liverpool begins the defense of their League Cup title today as they travel to face a confident West Bromwich Albion side at the Hawthorns.
For Liverpool's manager Brendan Rodgers a positive result will go a long way to settle Reds supporters anxiety who have been very vocal given that his side has not recorded a victory yet in the Premier league, drawing two and losing three which is good enough to place them 18th in the table.
Liverpool has missed the finishing ability of Fabio Borini who is out due to injury. That places the scoring responsibly squarely on Luis Suarez who has put 30 shots on frame but has only netted two so far in the campaign. Rodgers could help the Uruguayan international by placing 18-year-old Samed Yesil on the top line.
But Liverpool as a club has been able to find the back of the net putting five in during their Europa League match against Young Boys the previous week. Reds captain Steven Gerrard will have to inspire his side if they are to have any chance at defending their League Cup title.
For West Brom the story is just the opposite. The Baggies have been impressive thus far in the Premiership collecting three wins in five matches which has placed them fourth thus far in the campaign which includes a 3-0 thumping of Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
West Brom manager Steve Clarke has his club in perfect position will few injuries and his players working well together on the pitch. Romelu Lukaku, Shane Long, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Markus Rosenberg should all be available should they get the call to lace-up their boots. Unfortunately, Peter Odemwingie will have to miss this fixture as he remains suspended after being sent off at Fulham.
Kick-off for the match is at 3:00 p.m. EDT and can be watched online here.
