'Longmire' Season 5 Renewal News: Season 4 Cliff-hanger Increases Possibility of A Fifth Installment
As of this publication date, the fate of Netflix's western-themed crime drama series, "Longmire," hasn't still been determined. However, new updates suggest that Season 5 could be as closer than ever to happen.
Citing the report from Inquisitr.com, the Season 4's cliff-hanger ending could contribute to the possibility of having a fifth installment. The site explained that most often than not, writers will seek to tie up the loose ends of a show if they know it's time for it to be put in the back of the drawer. But apparently, that didn't happen with "Longmire."
For those who missed it (and spoiler alert ahead), Season 4 concluded with Mathias (Zahn McClarnon) arresting Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips). Fans were already on the lookout for what would be the fate of Bear.
Viewers were also left in suspense over the further outcome of Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and Vic's (Katee Sackhoff) very complicated relationship.
Additionally, followers of the show may have now started to get hooked on the storyline of the town's new deputy, Zach (Barry Sloane) who seems to hold so many secrets.
Meanwhile, the series stars themselves revealed, during an interview with Collider, that "Longmire" won't definitely be wrapped up in Season 4 and that there's more to come in the drama.
"Oh, hell no! We all need a job in Season 5. We're not closing anything," Phillips said (via Yibada.com).
Taylor, on the other hand, clarified that there may be something resolved in Season 4, but the manner that the issue is being taken cared of "might blow something else apart."
Originally premiered back in 2012 on A&E channel and later picked up by the streaming service network this year, "Longmire" is based on the series of mystery novels titled "Walt Longmire Mysteries" and is written by Craig Johnson.
Season 4 was made available for viewing on September 10 on Netflix.
