'Longmire' Season 5 Spoilers: Betrayals of Daughter and Best Friend Break Walt's Heart; His Much Awaited Romance With Vic Happening in New Season
Walt Longmire will face tough times in his personal relationships in "Longmire" Season 5.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) will be in for some tough times in "Longmire" Season 5. A recently released trailer gives fans a preview of what awaits the county sheriff in the action-packed Western drama.
Spoilers for "Longmire" Season 5 disclose that it will be full of shootouts, angry confrontations, and a road rage. There will even be a dramatic plunge into the lake. But, it will not be all action for Walt Longmire as the new season also hints of a romantic build-up in the relationship between him and his deputy, Vic Moretti (Katee Sackhoff).
Heartbreaking betrayals
Another thing that might be of great concern to him would be finding out that his daughter, Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) will be working for Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez). He is a local businessman whom Walt has previously suspected of having something to do with his wife's murder.
In last season's finale, Nighthorse offered Cady the job of providing legal representation for the Cheyenne natives. It seems that she accepted the job offer. But, this will not only be the betrayal that would cause heartbreak for Walt in "Longmire" Season 5.
Walt's closest friend, Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips), has been known to be not as completely honest with Walt in many things. In the coming season of "Longmire", Walt will call Henry out on all of the lies he has told him. As expected, a heated and heartbreaking confrontation will follow.
But, while Walt will suffer heart breaks from his daughter and most trusted ally, his much awaited romance with Vic finally seems to bear fruition in "Longmire" Season 5.
New trailer released
The new trailer released for "Longmire" Season 5 reveals that the premiere will closely follow the events of last season's finale wherein an intruder entered Walt's home and attacked him and Donna (Ally Walker).
At the start of the trailer, Donna can be seen crying as she tries to wake up Walt, who looks unconscious and bloodied. But, it is later shown in the trailer that Walt did survive the shooting, but he appears to have lost his memory as a result.
The sheriff becomes uncharacteristically disoriented, which will not go unnoticed by his deputies. Jim "The Ferg" Ferguson (Adam Bartley), the young deputy whom Walt has learned to respect because of his job efficiency, talks to Vic about their boss being a little "off".
Vic is dating Eamonn; Walt is concerned
But, while Vic shows concern for his well-being, Walt appears concerned over Vic dating Eamonn O'Neill (Josh Cooke) in the "Longmire" Season 5 trailer. Vic insists that she and Eamonn are not dating.
In Craig Johnson's "Walt Longmire Mysteries" book series, which is the source material for the series, Walt and Vic are romantically involved. Near the end of the trailer, they share a loving stare, which seems to indicate that a Walt-Vic romance is going to happen also in the small screen adaptation.
All episodes of "Longmire" Season 5 can be streamed on Netflix beginning September 23.
