Lorde New Album News: When Is Lorde Releasing Her Next Album?

It has been two years since Lorde released her successful debut album "Pure Heroine" in September 2013. For fans of the young artist from New Zealand, two years may be too long a wait for their favorite artist to come up with a follow-up album. According to a report in MTV, Lorde already has a name for her next album, but she is keeping it under wraps because she has only told her mother so far.

The report said that the artist took to Twitter to tell the rest of the world that she has an album name picked out, but that only her mom knows what it is, in the meantime. She also tweeted that she was "feeling quietly excited about 2016," which some reports said may have to do with the release of her album.

Although Lorde has been quiet about when exactly in 2016 the album is going to be released, she has shared previously what fans can expect from her next album. According to an earlier report in the Inquisitr, the artist differentiated her next album from "Pure Heroine," especially talking about where she was in her life when she wrote it. She said in her interview, "I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me. Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."

She also mentioned in the same interview that the album's release will be dependent on how fast she can come up with new songs. Her song-writing process according to her is "pretty simple." She will just "start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right."

Lorde's debut album "Pure Heroine" has sold over 2.8 million copies, as of November 2014.
