The Lakers look more promising this year than they did in the previous campaign - with new players such as Lou Williams, Roy Hibbert and rookie D'Angelo Russell.
Julius Randle is also back from his injury and is looking like a solid power forward that can further develop into one of the better players in the league.
However, it has not translated to wins so far as the Lakers have fallen in their first three games as they went against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings and Dallas Mavericks.
Kobe Bryant has shown glimpses of his former self but the veteran is still trying to get the rust off him as the season progresses.
A win over the Nuggets should go a long way in boosting their confidence.
On the other hand, Denver are 1-2 so far this season and also have a young team that will hopefully flourish as time goes by.
They won their first game in impressive fashion as they faced the Houston Rockets, winning by 20 points in the match-up.
However, they were thrashed by the Timberwolves in their next game and lost heavily to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Kenneth Faried, Danilo Gallinari and Jameer Nelson are trying to lead the squad while rookie Emmanuel Mudiay is trying to find consistency as a point guard in the league.
As the two teams clash, expect both teams that are hungry for a win to battle for 48 minutes.
