Two rebuilding teams meet for their first matches of the season as the Los Angeles Lakers welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Staples Center in the National Basketball Association.

The Lakers are known for their location and as one of the biggest markets in the league. However, they have been below par in the past seasons and are now trying to turn the tide for a better campaign this year.
Kobe Bryant is a year older and is not the dominating player he once was, but he can still definitely contribute to the team.
Along with Bryant, the Lakers now have a young core that is expected to turn things around for the franchise.
D'Angelo Russell was drafted and is expected to start in the point guard position. Lou Williams won last year's Sixth Man of the Year and will definitely be a spark off the bench with LA.
Jordan Clarkson and Nick Young are expected to share minutes in the shooting guard position, while Bryant goes up to the small forward spot.
Los Angeles also added new big men in the line-up as Brandon Bass will play back-up to Julius Randle and Roy Hibbert has arrived to hopefully provide a presence in the center spot.
Meanwhile, the Wolves are still going through transition themselves. The loss of Flip Saunders will act as a catalyst for them to have a better season and expect the stars to deliver.
The young core will be led by veteran Kevin Garnett and expect guards Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine to improve and be more effective leaders for the Wolves.
Both squads are looking at the same predicament and this could easily be one exciting match to watch.
