The Lakers are one of the most storied franchises in the league and will always draw a crowd, while the Kings are steadily becoming one of the up-and-coming squads in the league.

Los Angeles are still led by one of the best players who ever graced the game - Kobe Bryant. He may be older and his athleticism may not be there, but his accomplishments are sure to always bring the people to watch him play.

On the other side, DeMarcus Cousins is undoubtedly the man in Sacramento as he is slowly building his name as the future of the league and is currently argued as the best center playing the game today.

Along with Cousins is Rudy Gay who is an offensive threat and Rajon Rondo who is trying to revitalise his career after seemingly burning out during his time with the Dallas Mavericks.

Early in the preseason, their trio seems to have worked as the Kings have won three out of their first four exhibition matches.

They won their first game against the Portland Trail Blazers 109-105 during overtime. It was the first appearance of the whole squad together after new signings came over during the summer.

They lost their second game against the Phoenix Suns 107-100.

In the next game they battled the grizzled San Antonio Spurs and came out victorious as they took a 95-92 victory.

Finally, they faced the Portland Trail Blazers and beat their Western Conference rivals 94-90.

Despite these all being preseason games, there is a sense of positivity in the team and something that everyone seemingly wants to look forward to when watching the Kings.

On the other hand, the Lakers have failed to secure a win in their first three matches this term.

They lost twice to the Utah Jazz, first a 90-71 thrashing before a close 117-114 loss in their second meeting.

Against the Toronto Raptors, they were clearly a step behind as they lost 105-97.

The team is still trying to continue their development with a young core led by the veteran Bryant so expect the pace for the team to pick up soon.
