At the moment, the Raptors hold the second spot in the Atlantic Division in the East with a 7-6 record, virtually tied with the Boston Celtics for the lead, while the New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers try to chase them.
On the other hand, the Lakers see themselves once again at the bottom of the Pacific Division in the West, where the defending champions Golden State Warriors are on top, with the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings all above them at the moment.
Luckily for the Lakers, they are meeting the Raptors at a great time as Toronto have been on a losing streak.
After starting the first 10 games with a 7-3 record, the Raptors are in a bit of a slump as they are now 7-6 and have lost their last three.
Defeats to the Kings, Warriors and Utah Jazz have all been on the road, and with two more road games on tap, they will want to end their losing streak against the Lakers.
Meanwhile, the Lakers won their second game of the season when they toppled the Detroit Pistons 97-85.
Unfortunately, they were unable to replicate the result when they recently faced the Phoenix Suns as they were thrashed 120-101 in Arizona.
Now they will try to catch the Raptors off-guard and beat them at home.
