Lose Bet, Eat Rat? Radio Host Feasts on Rodent After Losing Bet (VIDEO)
A popular French radio host ate rat while he was on the air to come good on a bet that was made more than three years ago.
Former Marseille defender Eric De Meco, who hosts a radio show on RMC in France, made the bet three years ago, in reference to Spanish footballer Cesar Azpilicueta, whom he thought would never be a permanent fixture at right-back for Spain
French club Marseille signed Azpilicueta in 2010, when their then-president Jean-Claude Dassier described the player as "Spain's future right-back."
After the signing De Meco, bet jokingly that: "If that happens, I'll eat a rat."
Now Azpilicueta, who currently plays for English Premier league club Chelsea, made his senior national team this February against Uruguay and De Meco finally came good on his bet.
The former footballer downed the rat which was described as a coypu, a type of river rat, with a glass of red wine during a recent radio broadcast on RMC.
Chelsea and Azipilicueta moved one step closer to securing a top four finish and a place in next year's Champions League after beating Swansea City 2-0 over the weekend and moved into third place with a point advantage over fourth place Arsenal.
Swansea does not have much to play for as they currently sit ninth and will look to make improvements to the squad come the off-season.
Longtime Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard moved one goal closer to becoming the clubs all-time leading scorer when he scored a penalty in the first half.
Lampard came on for the injured Ramires, and the Blues looked much better from that point forward as Lampard put in a dominate performance once again in midfield.
Brazilian international Oscar put Chelsea ahead in the 43rd minute with a lovely finish which was placed to the far post from just inside the penalty area and the Blues never were never really challenged the rest of the match.
