Louboutin Cinderella Glass Slipper to Debut in Summer?
Cinderella has officially gone from rags to riches and from fairy godmothers to Christian Louboutin. The famous high fashion shoe designer has agreed to make his very own version of the fairytale glass slipper.
Disney extended a special invitation to the well-known shoe designer to re-create Cinderella's prince catching glass slipper in honor of the "Cinderella" DVD rerelease. Louboutin has graciously accepted his invitation to the ball.
The original movie was created in the 1950's. The shoe becomes a crucial part of the movie because it is the only thing that the handsome prince charming has left to lead him to his mysterious love who seems to have vanished into thin air.
It appears that now Louboutin has also crossed paths with the mysterious woman, and will be making the glass show by retracing her steps.
"I have been so lucky to have crossed paths with Cinderella, an icon who is so emblematic to the shoe world as well as the dream world," Louboutin said according to Women's Wear Daily.
The heels are set to be unveiled this summer and could be paired wonderfully with Disney's own princess-inspired wedding dresses designed by Alfred Angelo, and don't forget the Disney engagement ring.
Unfortunately Louboutin might be a little out Cinderella's price range, and it appears that no fairy godmother will be making the shoes available to the masses.
The average price for one of the designer's red-bottomed shoes is estimated at around $845. Bridal shoes can go into the thousands. Louboutin's Daffodille heels cost a shocking $6,395. Even a pair of flats runs around $645.
"I'm sure Cinderella couldn't afford his shoes," Prnez wrote on the Huffington Post blog.
But the news is too much for some, and now that word is out it may be too late to stop certain fashionistas from securing a pair.
"MUST HAVE ... MAYBE FOR MY WEDDING IN FEB," Perky2Cents chimed in.
