'Luke Cage' News, Cast, Spoilers: Mike Colter Reveals 'Luke Cage' Time Line
Marvel is all set for its television takeover. The partnership of the studio with Netflix has guaranteed viewers a string of Marvel shows that will surely make everyone happy. With "Jessica Jones" all set to air in November, the next character in production is not "Luke Cage." Even before debuting in his own show in 2016, fans will already be seeing Cage in "Jessica Jones," as well as some other characters.
Of course, just like how Cage is connected to Jones, Cage will eventually be connected to Iron Fist. The characters are all connected as part of Marvel's big plan to get them all together in "The Defenders." According to Screen Rant, Mike Colter, who plays Luke Cage, recently had an interview at the New York Comic-Con 2015 with ComicBook. During this time, he talked about what the time line viewers can expect when the show has launched, and in accordance with the Jones' story line, "I can tell you what they've allowed me to, which is basically, Luke Cage will take place a few months after Jessica Jones. So in real time, if you watch Jessica Jones, you'll find [at the end] Luke Cage uptown in Harlem, working, trying to make ends meet. Luke Cage really hasn't figured out what he's doing. He's tending bar, he's bouncing around. And for good reason, he's a fugitive, he has some skeletons in his closet."
Colter further explains that going into his own show, fans will start to see him struggle with a calm demeanor, despite having the power to do good, especially in the location where Cage will originally be around in. Colter gave out a minor description of the setting, sharing, "So I can say you'll find him uptown in Harlem, and in a completely different world from Hell's Kitchen." It's no wonder why Cage will be faced with countless situations where he feels he is forced to step-up and use whatever "gift" he has.
For now, the series "Luke Cage" has no set date yet, but like previously said, Cage will be appearing on "Jessica Jones," which will premiere on Nov. 20 to be exact.
