Lupita Nyong'o to Star in New Zombie Rom-Com with Josh Gadd
A new Australian zombie comedy-horror titled "Little Monsters" will go into production soon, and new reports reveal that delightful duo Lupita Nyong'o and Josh Gadd have signed on to the project. The two actors will reportedly star in the new film alongside "Alien: Covenant" star Alexander England.
According to reports, England will play an unsuccessful musician named Dave, who has a crush on his nephew's teacher, so he decides to join him on his kindergarten school trip. The teacher, Miss Caroline, will be played by Nyong'o.
Meanwhile, things will get complicated when Gad's character, Teddy McGiggle, enters the scene. Gad's character is an internationally popular kids' show celebrity who is also eyeing to win Miss Caroline's affections. Caught in a love triangle, all the three of them suddenly find themselves in a chaos due to an unexpected zombie outbreak.
Although the film does not yet have a definite release date, reports suggest that its staff is already intact, with "Down Under" writer and director Abe Forsythe writing its script. The film will be produced by Snoot Entertainment and Made Up Stories and is set to kick off production this month. Backed by Screen Australia and Create NSW, the cast members will reportedly start shooting their scenes in Sydney soon.
Nyong'o rose to popularity after appearing in "12 Years a Slave," where the Kenyan actress won an Oscar for her stellar portrayal of a slave named Patsy. Last month, it was reported that she is also in the running to star in the "Charlie's Angels" reboot alongside Kristen Stewart, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Gadd recently starred in "Alien: Covenant" and "Beauty and the Beast." He was also a cast member of Forsythe's "Down Under."
In a recent statement, Bruna Papandrea of Made Up Stories said, "We have been longtime fans of Lupita's and Josh's extraordinary work, and we are thrilled that they have come on board alongside Alex."
