Macaulay Culkin Heroin Reports Slammed as 'Reckless' by Rep

Macaulay Culkin is accused of battling drug addiction and new reports suggest that friends of the former child star now fear for his health. His representative has denounced the claims, however, calling them "reckless."

The National Enquirer, a new source that is often criticized for its reporting standards, claims that the 31-year-old "Home Alone" star is addicted to both heroin and prescription drugs.

"Macaulay Culkin is hooked on drugs and it's killing him!" a source close to Culkin reportedly told the Enquirer.

"He's been hooked for a year and a half, and his drug of choice is either heroin or oxycodone. Mac is surrounding himself with junkies and lowlifes. It's a real tragedy," the source added.

A representative for Culkin previously denied reports that the actor is in poor health and said that any suggestion that he is unwell is "reckless, thoughtless and irresponsible." The rep also went on requesting that certain media outlets "discontinue the rumors."

The explosive accusations come just six months after a series of troubling photographs showing Culkin looking gaunt and unwell surfaced online. The New York native, who was once praised for his adorable looks as a child, appeared to be pale and skeletal in the viral photos and another friend claims to have an explanation for his bizarre new look.

"Macaulay Culkin is surely dying. He's addicted to heroin, oxycodone, Percocet and Vicodin. I have witnessed his drug taking, which has escalated over the past year and a half to the point where he needs serious help," an alleged second friend said.

Sources claim that Culkin's alleged drug use has spiraled out of control following his public split from actress Mila Kunis, who has since moved on with Ashton Kutcher. His reported career woes have also been blamed for his supposed battle with addiction.

"His closest friends fear that he'll overdose or his heart will explode. If he doesn't get help and enter rehab now, he could be dead in six months," the source told the Enquirer.

Culkin, who is also accused of spending up to $6,000 a month on dangerous painkillers, was recently accused of almost suffering from a drug overdose.

"It should have been a wake-up call, but it didn't seem to have any effect on him. Mac is still partying hard. I pray that he finds the courage and strength to clean up before it's too late," the source said.
