MacBook Pro 2016 Latest News and Release Date: Will Apple Laptop Be Announced Next Month? Specs and Price Details
Apple fans have been waiting since last year for another MacBook Pro upgrade. Many sources are saying that this latest version will finally come this year, although there have been rumors as well that the release will have to wait until 2017. For now, fans can only speculate.
Release Date
According to MacWorld UK, it is likely that the Macbook Pro 2016 will be announced next month, along with a new version of the iPad.
Last month, Bloomberg said Apple is "preparing the first significant overhaul of its MacBook Pro laptop line in over four years, according to people familiar with the matter, using one of its older products to help reverse two quarters of sliding sales."
Apple Sales decline
The release of the MacBook Pro 2016 could help Apple regain profits. As reported by the Telegraph, the company has suffered a 27 percent reduction in quarterly profits. This is mainly because the company is having a hard time boosting iPhone sales.
Some argue that the lowering sales is due to the fact that Tim Cook, Apple CEO, simply can't match Steve Jobs' leadership, vision, and iconic status. Critics say the iPhone 7 is evidence that the company has run out of ideas, although it definitely has a much better processor than the iPhone 6 and therefore runs faster.
Specs
As Apple fans anticipate the release of the MacBook Pro 2016, rumors about its specs continue to come out. One particular feature that is consistently claimed is the OLED touch screen which will replace the physical function key buttons at the top portion of the keyboard.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is also said to feature a Touch ID sensor, a USB-C port, and a thinner and lighter device in general.
Just like with the iPhone 7, Apple might remove the headphone jack for the MacBook Pro 2016. A lot of consumers were unhappy about this change, because this feature has been around for decades simply because it worked. The wireless Lightning EarPods are expensive and also quite prone to getting lost.
It is also believed that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have a 2304 x 1440 px display. It will also have Apple Pencil compatibility and use a Skylake processor.
Price
The MacBook Pro 2016 will probably be worth around $1,099 for the non-Retina model and $1119 for the Retina MacBook Pro. Another version of the device is the 2.5 GHz 15-inch (both devices mentioned above are 13-inch) Retina, and this will probably be worth around $2,099.
