'Mad Max: Savage Road' Video Game Features 'Fury Road' Wasteland (VIDEO)

Warner Bros. Interactive recently released the official trailer for their upcoming "Mad Max:Savage Road" video game featuring an interconnect with the film version, "Mad Max: Fury Road."

The newly released trailer for the "Mad Max: Savage Road" video game shows the twisted wasteland from the 2015 post-apocalyptic sequel to the franchise, "Mad Max: Fury Road."

The soon-to-be released game is currently under development in Avalanche Studios, the same developer that brought gamers the "Just Cause" series, and it will feature the film version's weaponized vehicles primarily geared for car combat.

The trailer gives fans a first look at the title's gameplay, bringing with it "Fury Road's" anarchy theme for the open world video game.

In the gameplay footage with a similar feel as "Grand Theft Auto," the game will have the same heroes and villains as the film, sharing the same physical attributes and action sequences, such as fistfights and battle car face-offs.

"Mad Max: Savage Road" opens in the desert wasteland featured in the film where players can explore at leisure and complete missions in, scavenge for spare parts and scrap metal to outfit Max's war vehicle, and find fortresses and hideouts where Max can pick fights with other survivors and their cars to get new car parts.

The game will give players the feel of desperation as their resources run out, ammo and bombs become short in supply, and flames use up Max's needed fuel, giving gamers the opportunity to plan out the use of their reserves.

While "Mad Max: Savage Road" features high octane speed and action-filled moments, players will also experience moments of solitude on the road enjoying the game's detailed 3D graphics while driving through the game's wasteland.

According to Avalanche's design director, Magnus Nedfors, the game is a balance of open world exploration, vehicle combat, and hand-to-hand fighting, Venture Beat writes.

"Mad Max: Savage Road" is scheduled for launch in Sept. 1 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
