'Madam Secretary' Season 3 Episode 17: Elizabeth Butts Heads With the CIA Director
Elizabeth (Téa Leoni) will go head-to-head with the disgruntled CIA director in the upcoming episode of "Madam Secretary."
In the episode titled "Convergence," the synopsis (according to CarterMatt) reveals that the State Department will uncover huge information about the arms smuggling ring allegedly run by the CIA. Through a computer sting operation, Elizabeth and her team are close to identifying the mole in their midst. Unfortunately, CIA Director Dennis Ellerman (John Doman) does not appreciate her meddling into his agency's business. The more Elizabeth's team digs into the conspiracy, the more it is ascertained that something bigger is behind the whole thing.
The promo shows Elizabeth, President Dalton (Keith Carradine) and other officials talking about the missiles that went missing. The POTUS expresses his concern that more than a dozen warheads may fall into the wrong hands. The Americans must get the missiles back as soon as possible and it looks like Elizabeth has a plan. This means bypassing the CIA, though. The teaser shows an angry Ellerman bursting inside Elizabeth's office and yelling that she has no right to mess with things she may not be able to handle.

A different scene shows armed soldiers arriving in the State Department's headquarters. Elizabeth looks very much alarmed when the head of security tells her they have a situation. The mole must be inside the building. The agents are shown checking out every nook and cranny, looking for the spy. One of Elizabeth's aides finally tells her over the phone that the culprit has been captured. Does this mean that the mole is a part of her team?
At the latter part, Elizabeth asks Ellerman to come and see her. In a grave voice, she asks him for help. It looks like they have a common enemy that they must take down before it is too late.
"Madam Secretary" season 3 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
