'Madam Secretary' Season 4 Episode 5 Spoilers: Elizabeth Deals with a Troublesome Diplomat
An ambassador to the U.S. will test Elizabeth's (Tea Leoni) patience in the upcoming episode of "Madam Secretary."
In the episode titled "Persona Non Grata," the synopsis reveals that Elizabeth plans to hold a conference on human trafficking in Kyrgyzstan. Her effort will almost go to waste due to a troublesome diplomat who acted inappropriately in front of the media. Amidst the objections that she will only rub salt in the wound, the secretary will push through with the forum. In the promo, she is shown telling President Dalton (Keith Carradine) that it is an unexceptional opportunity they cannot afford to pass on.
Elsewhere, Henry (Tim Daly) seems to be in trouble. The clip reveals that he is working on a dangerous case. Elizabeth's husband is shown in a frantic car chase, which culminates in a fiery explosion. In the latter part of the promo, the secretary expresses how worried she is about her husband's safety. The episode will also feature the worried McCords over their daughter's weird behavior. Instead of staying on campus like she usually does, Alison (Kathrine Herzer) will reportedly keep on coming home without notice.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth's team is still adjusting to working now that Nadine (Bebe Neuwirth) has quit from her post as Chief of Staff. Previously, she submitted her resignation letter and told her boss about her son's request. Roman (Ethan Peck) asked Nadine to live near him and his pregnant wife. With all the problems the U.S. government has been facing, Elizabeth's right-hand woman felt that it was time to move on. Nadine convinced the secretary that her son needed her more now that his family is facing a new milestone in life. Elizabeth did not have the heart to stop her friend.
"Madam Secretary" season 4 airs Sundays, at 10 p.m. EDT on CBS.
