Madonna Engaged to Brahim Zaibat? Singer Brushes Off 30-Year Age Gap

Madonna recently fueled engagement rumors in New York City after allegedly introducing her partner, Brahim Zaibat, as her fiance.

The pop singer, 55, reportedly attended a Rosh Hashanah service at the Kabbalah Centre with Zaibat, 25, on Sept. 4 where sources claim she made the surprising reference. The pair has reportedly been dating for two years.

"She looked so happy and didn't try to keep it a secret," the witness told In Touch magazine. "It was like she wanted everyone to know she was going to marry this man."

The report comes more that one year after it was claimed that the French dancer had proposed to the twice married mother of three. Madonna reportedly took her time in responding.

"Brahim asked Madonna to marry him at the centre a few weeks ago, but Madonna hasn't given him an answer yet. She doesn't want to rush into anything. She is very happy with Brahim, although her friends are not sure she is ready for marriage again," a source told the Daily Mail UK in 2012.

At the time the "Give Me All Your Luvin" singer was reportedly torn on marrying Zaibat because she did not want to rush to that level of commitment. Madonna is said to be madly in love with her lover, who is almost 30 years younger.

"Madonna has a real fear of being on her own. It's a major issue for her, and she loves having a man in her life who is young and makes her feel young," the source previously explained.

The singer, who dated a younger man prior to Zaibat, raised eyebrows when she first began dating him due to the significant gap in their ages. She previously opened up about her relationship with Zaibat, whose mother is said to be 8 years younger than Madonna.

"I didn't choose to, you know, I didn't, like, write down on a piece of paper I'm now going to have a relationship with a younger man," Madonna told ABC. "That's just what happened. You see, that's the romantic in me. I just met someone that I cared for, and this happened to be his age."

In 2008, Madonna divorced British filmmaker Guy Ritchie after almost 8 years of marriage, however, she still believes in marriage.

"I don't want to live my life on my own," she said. "I love being a mother. My children fill me up in many ways, and inspire me in many ways, but I need a partner in my life and I think most people feel that way. I've never really lived a conventional life, so I think it's quite foolish for me or anyone else to start thinking that I am going to start making conventional choices."
