'Major Crimes' Season 5B Spoilers: Sharon Worries About Flynn's Health
Flynn's (Tony Denison) condition is expected to be revealed in the upcoming second half of the current season of "Major Crimes."
Fans of the TNT series were worried about the lieutenant when he appeared to be having a heart attack in the summer finale. The episode to be shown for the winter premiere, "Heart Failure," seems to confirm that Flynn's condition is serious. Sharon (Mary McDonnell) is definitely facing a grim future, as her boyfriend battles for his life. It will be a shame if something bad will happen to Flynn now, considering how their relationship has progressed. There are even speculations that the two are thinking of getting married soon.
Meanwhile, another storyline to look forward to is Sharon's possible promotion. Viewers can remember that Assistant Chief of Special Operations Russell Taylor (Robert Gossett) was killed in the last episode. The serial killer, Dwight Darnell (Brett Davern), open fired inside the courtroom and many people were shot. Taylor was one of the casualties.
Series creator James Duff previously shared that Sharon would be considered for the post, but the competition is going to be stiff. She and two others would all be vying for the position.
"Sharon is going to be in the race for Assistant Chief [of Special Operations], and she will be in that race with Camryn Manheim and an as-of-yet unannounced third actor. And that will be the thrust of the back eight [episodes], which is: 'Who will get that job?' — and the changes that come with it," Duff said in an interview with TVLine.
Meanwhile, Sharon's adoptive son, Rusty (Graham Patrick Martin), will also have his share of hurdles to face. Recent spoilers reveal that his relationship with Gus (Rene Rosado) will be put to the test. Someone will get in-between them. Keegan Allen (from 'Pretty Little Liars') has been tapped to play Aiden Reed, a young restaurateur who will do everything to separate the lovers.
"Major Crimes" season 5 will return on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 9 p.m. EST on TNT.
