The hosts have not lost in their last four outings in the league. They beat New England Revolution 4-1 at home before winning their next two away games against Orlando City and Philadelphia. Their most recent result was a 1-1 draw against Montreal Impact.

Bradley Wright-Phillips is their most prolific scorer so far, already with nine goals in 21 league appearances. Mike Grella sits second behind him with five goals so far.

New York FC are still struggling to gain some consistency as they have only won once in their last four league games.

They beat Orlando 5-3 in an exciting match, but have lost to New England and Montreal. They were also part of an exciting 4-4 draw against Toronto earlier in July.

The guests have a more formidable lineup as they have European legends in their roster such as David Villa and Andrea Pirlo, and Villa has shown he still has the capability to score a lot of goals as shown by his 13 nets in 19 appearances since arriving to New York.

Since New York FC are relatively new to the league, the two teams have only met twice in their history. Both matches resulted in big wins for New York Red Bull but expect New York FC to try and get a famous win away from home against their local rivals.
