Makers Of 'Gears of War' Has A New Shooter Game Called 'Paragon'
Epic Games, the game developer who made the successful "Gears of War" series as well as one of the better known game engines, the Unreal game engine, hinted that they are making a new shooter game called "Paragon." According to a report in The Independent, Epic Games launched a website for the game which is now accessible. At this time however, it only features one playable character of the game, and not much more.
The report also said that a new character will be introduced through the website every week until December 3, which is when the last of the five playable characters will be shown. Given the quality of work that Epic Games has put out in the past, the report also predicts that the upcoming game will be nothing short of great.
In the website, the first character on display is called "Twinblast," who is described in the report as a "square-jawed, all-American looking guy with two guns," thus the name. He also has metal arms. Among his abilities are "Injured Rage" (Damage + Buff while wounded) and "Bounty Stalker" (Critical Strike + Bonus on successive hits).
Aside from the character, there are links where gamers can "unlock unique in-game items." While looking at Twinblast, gamers can select perks that they will be able to redeem and use for the game when it is available. Perks can be "more health" or "increased damage," among others. Selecting perks will be dependent on the playing style that the player will want to use.
According to another report in PC Magazine, the names of the characters are as follows: "Steel," "Sparrow," Dekker," and "Grux." The game is also encouraging those who visit the site to sign up for the game's beta, although there is no indication when this will be launched. Those who signify interest in participating in the beta will be given a special item to unlock for Twinblast, according to the report.
The PC shooter game is expected to arrive in early 2016.
