'Making History' Season 1 Episode 3: Deborah Gets a Taste of the 21st Century in 'The Boyfriend Experience'
Only two episodes into its freshman season and "Making History" has already messed up by bringing back the American Revolution. But now that one wrinkle in time has been fixed, what other anomalies will this ragtag group of casual time travelers be creating as FOX's new time travel comedy continues?
When the previous episode ended, it seemed that history professor, Chris (Yassir Lester), was done time traveling and was ready to go back to his life and continue working to achieve success in his own career. He seemed to have cut off any ties with computer expert, Dan (Adam Pally), with whom he would never have associated had the latter not turned to him for help to fix the timeline and bring freedom back to present day America.
While it's not clear whether the two of them will ever team up again, it seems that Dan will need his help again soon enough in the next episode titled "The Boyfriend Experience."
The episode synopsis reveals that Chris will be undergoing a crucial point in his career when he finds himself in the crosshairs of his mentor Dr. Cobell's (Ben Vereen) intense scrutiny. And while he works hard to finally achieve tenure at his university, Dan will be working just as hard to prove that he's more than just an average guy in the present century when Deborah (Leighton Meester), the girl he spirited away from 1776, begins discovering his not-so-thrilling life.
And in order to keep the girl, Dan will be resorting to some really desperate and consequently alarming measures, which could potentially just make matters worse. Will Chris be on hand to help him out this time? Or will Deborah eventually accept Dan for who he really is, flaws and all? She does look like she's having the time of her life while Dan shows her around her new world, as shown in the official trailer.
"Making History" season 1 episode 3 airs on Sunday, March 19 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on FOX.
