Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Search Latest News: Task Force to Delay Tracking Plans for Missing Aircraft

It looks like a key component that could be instrumental towards finding Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 is going to be delayed, and it could take a while before the missing aircraft is found again.

According to NBC News, an airline industry-led task force which is finding ways to improve plane tracking after the disappearance of the aforementioned plane has delayed its recommendations, possibly until December.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said the draft proposals would not be delivered to the U.N.'s aviation body on Tuesday. The IATA was working on a system that would make it possible to pinpoint the exact route and last location of an aircraft.

"After an exhaustive internal review, it was determined that we needed more clarification on the recommendations and on guidance for implementation," IATA spokeswoman Mona Aubin said in an email.

Meanwhile, the search for Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 has yet to show a sign of the missing plane, but it did lead to a major scientific find.

According to Inquisitr, search crews used high tech sonar equipment to comb over large portions of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Australia, where the plane is projected to have landed.

The scientists who were part of the team released their find on Sept. 24, with color pictures of the search area. The maps reportedly showed mount ranges with some peaks more than a mile high, and a trench that was estimated to be deeper than the Grand Canyon. There was also what the scientists believe is an underwater volcano that is larger than Mount St. Helens.

The search for the missing plane continues as two ships, the Fugro Discovery and the GO Phoenix will go three miles beneath the ocean surface to map more of the ocean floor by using sound waves.
