Batman V Superman news: Man Of Steel Unmasks Batman In New Teaser Trailer
A brand new 49-second-long trailer for the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was just released and in it, viewers will see an uncharacteristically sinister Man of Steel. The teaser debuted during the midseason finale of FOX's "Gotham" series.
The teaser, which establishes the tension between the DC heroes, begins with Batman (Ben Affleck) - in desert gear - coming to consciousness to find himself chained up and held prisoner in what appears to be an underground bunker. He is flanked by two men who are similarly tied up, the three of them guarded by Superman's army. The Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) then makes his entrance, a dark and menacing look on his face implying that something bad is about to happen. As he comes closer, the guards kneel and a look of fear passes across the Dark Knight's face. The teaser concludes with Superman callously pulling off Batman's mask.
2016 will be a big year for heroes fighting heroes in comic book movies as Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) duke it out in Marvel Studios' "Captain America: Civil War" and the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader find themselves at odds in DC's "Batman v Superman." As Batman and Superman fight it out, the Zack Snyder-helmed film will establish more characters. Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), and Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are rumored to be making their big screen debuts in the film.
But no matter how extensively the movie tries to tease the future of the DC Extended Universe, all the trailers so far released point to the film being primarily about the conflict between Batman and Superman, two iconic heroes who are best friends in the DC Comics but will presumably be each other's worst enemy in "Dawn of Justice."
