Man Sues for Ugly Baby Born to Ex-Wife, Wins $120,000

A man in Northern China has sued his ex-wife for producing what he has called "an incredibly ugly" baby. The case, highly unprecedented, netted Jian Feng $120,000 dollars in "damages."

Feng divorced his wife last year after realizing that she had had over $100,000 in plastic surgery in order to "trick him into marrying her," the ibtimes.com reported. When the couple found out they were pregnant, Feng had hopes that the baby would be as good look as its mother, but that was not to be.

"I married my wife out of love, but as soon as we had our first daughter, we began having marital issues," he told The Irish Times. "Our daughter was incredibly ugly, to the point where it horrified me."

Feng filed for divorce, citing "false pretenses," given the amount of plastic surgery his wife had had. He felt deceived by her appearance and the promise of an attractive child. A judge ruled in favor of Feng's argument and ordered the woman to pay him $120,000 in damages.

While there is some questioning as to whether the story is true or simply urban legend, it is clear that the majority of the public feels empathy for the woman and her daughter. Many have lashed out at Feng for his cowardice and irresponsible lawsuit.

"Whilst the woman is out of line for not sharing this important part of her past with him prior to their marriage, I feel terribly sorry for their baby, and this man is a monster," noted Huffington Post reader francescatynan. "What kind of father declares their child to be ugly and uses that as the reason for divorcing their wife? Not a kind one certainly. It is incredibly irresponsible to emotionally scar the child for life."

"It's unfortunate how far we've fallen. I don't think this world will stand much longer," added RickyRyles.
