Manchester City News: Edin Dzeko Set for Roma Move
Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko may be set to move out of the English Premier League after sources revealed that the forward is heading to Italy to finalize a move to Serie A team Roma.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina native has spent five years with Manchester City, winning two Premier League titles along the way.
He had most success from 2011-12 to the 2013-14 season where he scored a total of 44 league goals for the club.
However, he has grown increasingly frustrated with the club after only playing 22 league games this year and scoring only four goals as a result.
His minutes have started to dwindle as City have chosen to use Sergio Aguero up front and with Wilfried Bony in the line-up, the 29-year-old's minutes will be seeing a considerable stumble.
A proven striker with excellent skills for a big man, Dzeko should not find any trouble moving to another club and it seems that AS Roma are all set to sign the attacker.
According to rumors, the deal is set to move Dzeko to Roma for a fee of €23 million, seven million less than what City had initially wanted for their player.
This may present new life for the career of Dzeko, who will undoubtedly be out of favour if he stays with Manchester City especially with the arrival of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool for an English record fee of £49 million.
Moreover, if Dzeko arrives at Roma, he will undoubtedly be the focal point of the offense as Roma have had difficulties in scoring as of late, with only two players scoring more than eight goals last season in Adam Ljajic and Francesco Totti.
According to Mark Dobson of the Guardian, the Dzeko move is set to be completed within the day and Dzeko should be revealed shortly after.
