Manchester United vs Bayern Munich Live Stream Free: Watch Online Champions League Football (Start Time, Preview)

Manchester United will host Bayern Munich at Old Trafford in the Champions League on Tuesday night as their quarter final first leg takes place. United fans will be weary of the threat posed by this excellent Bayern team, and given United's poor form throughout this season, this one could end ugly for the Old Trafford faithful.

The game is scheduled to start at 2.45 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).

This match up could turn out to be the most humiliating point of United's already poor season, or it could be the tie that turns their season around.

United manager David Moyes has said ahead of the game: "It's been a difficult season for us, but we can go a long way to doing an awful lot better if we can get a result on Tuesday. The players are incredibly focused and I am really looking forward to the game."

United's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season rest entirely on them winning the competition this year, as they are lagging so far behind the top four in the English Premier League they will miss out on a qualifying spot this season for the first time in years.

However, winning the competition this season is almost unthinkable for most United fans, who have seen their team stutter repeatedly this season, producing some of the worst football by a United side in decades.

Bayern on the other hand are widely recognized as the best team on the planet right now. The manner in which they destroyed Barcelona across two legs last year was breathtaking, and all signs are, that they have got even better this season under new manager Pep Guardiola.

For Bayern, Alcantara, 22 – who was linked with a move to United last season - will be out for at least six weeks after suffering an extended partial ligament tear in his right knee in the 3-3 draw with Hoffenheim on Saturday.

If Bayern Munich can win the title again this year then they would be the first team ever to win back to back Champions League titles.
