Manny Pacquiao News: Mayweather Sr. Laughs at Roach's Suggestion of Floyd-Manny Rematch

Floyd Mayweather Sr. is continuously at odds with fellow trainer Freddie Roach.

Right after the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight seven months ago, Roach asked for a rematch, noting that his fighter would have done different with "two healthy hands."

Pacquiao was believed to have torn the rotator cuff on his right shoulder during the early goings of the fight. In an August report by Sky Sports, Roach did say that a healthy Pacquiao would emerge victorious if he does get another shot at the undefeated Mayweather.

"We were doing well until the shoulder went in the fourth round and we had a tough time after that. I do think we can beat Mayweather, 100 per cent," Roach said, according to the Sky Sports report.

For his part, Manny Pacquiao is actually open to the idea of a "Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2" scenario.

In an early November interview with CNN, boxing's first and only eight-division world champion says he wants to fight "Money May" once again, before he finally retires from the sport.

"I would love to have a rematch if he wants it," Pacquiao told CNN World Sport. Pacquiao had already announced that he plans to hold his 66th and supposedly final fight on April 2016. Among the shortlist of his possible opponents is Amir Khan, Terence Crawford, and most recently added, Timothy Bradley.

Mayweather Sr. has since responded to Roach's statements, and shared his thoughts in an interview with On The Ropes Boxing.

"Freddie 'The Joke Coach' Roach, he's still talking about how he wants Manny Pacquiao to fight Floyd again," Mayweather Sr. said in the interview. "Come on man, he needs to go sit down somewhere. Freddie Roach is the joke."

The elder Mayweather also added that the victory "The Money Team" achieved was not only his son's against Pacquiao, but also his personal one against Roach.

The two mentors have previously coached against each other in 2009, when Mayweather Sr. was then handling British slugger Ricky Hatton. Pacquiao went on to knockout "The Hitman" within two rounds.
