Manny Pacquiao Snaps Up Diddy's LA Mansion for $12.5 Million
Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao has recently acquired Diddy's Beverly Hills Mansion for $12.5 million.
Eight division boxing champion, Manny Pacquiao has just bought American rapper, Sean "Diddy" Combs' 10,000 square foot Beverly Hills mansion and everything inside it for a total of $12.5 million.
The Filipino fighter reportedly became infatuated with the 7-bedroom, 7.5-bath home in Beverly Hills' Summit Circle when he viewed it last weekend, and immediately made plans to acquire the property.
Pacquiao, who is due to face his nemesis, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in their much anticipated mega fight on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas may have bought the house with his large family in mind – wife, five children, a mother, household retinue – for when they arrive in Los Angeles for his Mayweather bout.
Diddy lived in the house with former girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez in the late 1990s and sold the property in 2001 to the new owners for $2.3 million. The recently refurbished property comes complete with furniture, appliances, artwork, and a home theater worth $200,000.
Pacquiao moved swiftly to purchase the property with a much shorter escrow period to ensure the mansion will be ready for when his family arrives.
The owners even stocked the mansion's wet bar as part of the purchase agreement with the Filipino boxer.
Pacquiao had earlier been scouting for a luxurious home to buy in Beverly Hills, sending out scouts to look over the choice properties for sale in the area for use as a permanent U.S. home for him and his family.
He opted for Diddy's former residence, a massive Mediterranean-inspired dwelling with an expansive yard, a saltwater swimming pool, a plus-size Jacuzzi, and a 25-vehicle capacity garage. Reports emerged one of the reasons he chose the mansion was his wife Jinkee's preference for its master bedroom and his-and-hers walk-in closets.
Pacquiao is also reportedly eyeing another piece of property to build his personalized sports complex on.
