Many Candidates for Rollins' Child's Father In Season 17 Of 'Law & Order: SVU'

Kelli Giddis' real life pregnancy is being incorporated in Season 17 of "Law & Order: SVU." She plays the role of Amanda Rollins in the series. Who is the child's father is the mystery? With 17 seasons, "Law & Order" is almost an institution and Rollins is the first character with a pregnancy.

Kelli Giddish revealed that she was pregnant for the first time when she was doing the X-Files. In an interview with E! Online, she said, "I looked it up - I looked up when I first got pregnant what other TV shows did and...I guess on 'The X-Files,' she went away. She got abducted by aliens. So I was like, ''That can't happen on SVU. Can't pitch that idea.'"

So the father has to be someone known to Rollins and in SVU. It will be real fun for the fans to solve the puzzle of who is the father of Rollins' child. Apart from Nick Amaro, fans have drawn up a list that includes: Dominick Carisi (Peter Scanvino), Odafin Tutuola (Ice-T), Rafael Barba (Raul Esparza), Declan Murphy (Donal Logue), Nate Davis (Thomas Sadoski), and Chief Dodds (Peter Gallagher).

Obviously, the man who is most suspect is Amaro, who is played by Danny Pino. But Rollins refuted this earlier, saying, "What's going to be really fun is getting to see who the father is-I do know. I got to pick...I kind of did, yeah. I was like, it can't be Danny [Pino], that would mean he would have three baby mamas. He's got two kids from two different mamas!"

Law & Order: SVU showrunner Warren Leight spoke to TVGuide, and he said that over this season, viewers will meet Rollins' family. He said, "Her family showing up is not a great thing for her -- nothing good comes from seeing her sister or her mother."

The season is going to be a bit hard on Rollins as she is alone without her partner, Detective Amaro. It was Amaro that Rollins had leaned on when she wanted support. So Rollins is going to get seriously obsessed with cases.

Season 17 of Law & Order: SVU has already premiered on Sept. 23. Keep watching it to solve the puzzle of Rollins' child's father.
