According to Forbes, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" comes with new carts, a new control system, new options as well as new and returning game modes.

The new karts are inspired by another classic Nintendo game franchise — "Splatoon." These new vehicles are capable of racing on the anti-gravity tracks included in the upcoming "Mario" game.

"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" will also be introducing the new Smart Steering control option. In addition, karts and characters in the video game will now be able to hold two items at the same time. Gamers can also expect the return of items such as the jumping Feather and Boo.

The upcoming Nintendo Switch version of this "Mario" game will arrive with several new and returning modes: Battle Mode, Renegade Roundup, Balloon Battle, Bob-omb Blast, Coin Runners and Shine Thief.

Renegade Roundup, for example, is a new mode in which each team is charged to capture the opposing team and imprison them. The opposing team, on the other hand, must escape and help their teammates break out of prison.

One of the returning game modes to "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is Coin Runners. Introduced in "Mario Kart Wii," the objective of the game is for players to race across battle courses and collect as many coins as they can.

The Nintendo Switch version of "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" is scheduled to be released on April 28. The original game was released for the Wii U back in 2014 with overall positive reviews.
