Marla Maples news: DWTS elimination cause for heart break, daughter Tiffany 'so sad'
Week four of "Dancing with the Stars" season 22 was said to have been heartbreaking for the latest cast eliminated, Marla Maples, along with her pro partner Tony Dovolani. And it was on Disney night, too! Maples' daughter, Tiffany Trump, who had been in the audience cheering her mom on, also declared her sadness at Maples' early elimination.
Maples shared, "Truly, my heart's broken. I love the show." She went on to say, "I've had a rough few years, and this helped me learn how to not just walk again but learn how to dance. So I really hoped to continue and I hoped we could just keep sharing the fun."
Dovolani also expressed his surprise, "for the first time in 21 seasons." He felt they were doing well, with Maples, he said, "growing every single week."
Both admitted on Good Morning America that they were stunned and speechless backstage when they were eliminated Monday. This after receiving comment from one of the judges, Len Goodman, that her waltz to "Part of Your World" from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" had been a "solid performance."
Despite getting booted out of the show, the 52-year-old actress confessed she had enjoyed her time on the show. She also lauded her pro partner as the "best teacher."
Meantime, her daughter Tiffany, 22, has since spoken with Us Weekly, saying "I'm so proud of my mom. And I'm so sad that she was voted off!"
She was of the opinion though that her mom, the former Mrs. Donald Trump, had done better each week, and was the "perfect Little Mermaid." She even complimented her mother for last week's performance to the tune of "Happy," which had earned Maples her 21 score and left her in disappointed tears.
The radio host had dedicated her last performance to her daughter who had been very supportive of her during the competition. The equally proud mom had admitted that the DWTS competition was the "hardest work" she had ever done.
Maples had been in jeopardy of elimination along with Jodie Sweetin who partnered with pro, Keo Motsepe. But she lucked out after not having seen it coming.
The single mom looks at it another way now, after recognizing that her daughter too had been "extremely sad" over her loss but knowing that Tiffany would be alright. The bright side, according to Maples is that "I can help her get ready for her graduation. It was going to be a little tough with Dancing with the Stars, to be the mom that I like to be, 'cause this is full-time! If you get food and an hour of sleep in, you're doing well."
Maples added, "Everybody needs to dance, I've learned that. You keep living, you keep dancing, that's it!"
"Dancing with the Stars" season 22 airs on ABC every Monday at 8 p.m.
