'Married at First Sight' Spin-Off Series to Replace Third Season

With the major backlash concerning the previous seasons of "Married at First Sight," it was reported that there will be a spin-off series titled "First Year."

The reality series features a panel of experts, psychologists, and relationship counselors who find individuals who are compatible. They then pair the strangers up and prepare them to marry each other.

The reality series has Dr. Logan Levkoff, Dr. Joseph Cilona, and Dr. Pepper Schwartz leading the social experiments. The first season of the series was successful. It featured Doug Hehner with Jamie Otis and Jason Marrion with Cortney Hendrix happy with their marriage.

However, the following season had the couples divorced before the final episode. A couple that was shown in the series, Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio, had broken up. The two recently shared that they are currently in good terms with each other, despite the breakup.

With that, the series received negative responses, claiming that the series made a joke out of marriage. Viewers have started questioning the series, since the social experiment consisted of finding compatible matches for the others.

The creators have decided to start a spin-off series that features couples from the first season of the series who had successful marriages. It will show the couples celebrating the milestones of each others' lives. Throughout the happy times, the new series will also show how well the couples will go through the struggles and challenges of their relationship.

The couples that will be featured in the series are Jamie Otis-Doug Hehner and Cortney Hendrix-Jason Carrion. They were seen in the trailer of the series, which was recently uploaded in the Facebook page of "Married at First Sight."

With that, the third season of "Married at First Sight" is not expected to push through.
