Marvel's 'Iron Fist' Release Date, News: Netflix Unveils New Featurette; Finn Jones Talks Character Arc, Story

Netflix has released a new featurette for Marvel's "Iron Fist." Apart from showing some never-before-seen clips, star Finn Jones talks about his new superhero series as well as his character's journey.

Promotion for "Iron Fist" is already in full gear, with the streaming giant having released the official trailer of the series earlier in the month. Now, a new featurette delves into the story arc of the lead protagonist, Danny Rand (Jones), aka Iron Fist.

For those who are unaware, "Iron Fist" tells the story of Danny Rand, the heir to a large company who was believed to have perished with his parents in a plane crash. Years later, Danny returns to New York to reclaim his family's company.

"He believes that he'll be received with open arms," Jones says in the clip. "The first thing he realizes is that the world's changed."

Danny, messily dressed and wearing no shoes, waltzes into the lobby of his father's company and is surprised to find that he is not welcome there. People initially do not believe he is who he claims he is, including his childhood friends Joy (Jessica Stroup) and Ward (Tom Pelphrey).

During his 15-year absence and supposed death, Danny underwent martial arts training in a monastery and became the Iron Fist. "Danny just wants to do the right thing, but he has this fire in him," Jones reveals.

And while he does want to reclaim his right to his family's business, Danny also has to deal with an unknown enemy.

"Danny has been told his whole life that there's a mythological dark force in the world and he really didn't believe that they were real," Jones says. However, as the featurette reveals, this dark force is definitely real.

Apart from that, Danny does not know whom he can trust. Friends and strangers alike all seem to be hiding something. "All these people have their own agendas," he says. "You don't know who's good and who's bad."

All episodes of Marvel's "Iron Fist" will be available on March 17 on Netflix.
