'Marvel's Runaways' Season 1 Spoilers: Is Victor Really Dead?

The upcoming episode of "Marvel's Runaways" season 1 will see the Pride attempting to sort things out.

The official synopsis of the next episode, titled "Tsunami," states that the Pride will have to get their act together after their latest actions went awry. They will also try to do it without having to involve Jonah (Julian McMahon). However, it remains to be seen whether they will be able to clean everything up by themselves.

A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released. It opens where the previous episode left off — with Victor (James Marsters) bleeding on the floor after getting shot by Janet (Ever Carradine). The Pride will try to revive him, though the process and result are still unclear. Elsewhere, threads start to unravel with the Runaways.

As of now, Victor's fate hangs in the balance. However, executive producer Josh Schwartz did explain to Entertainment Weekly that Victor is an important character. He is very significant to both Jonah's and the Pride's plan, which means there is a reason to keep him around. However, Schwartz did not definitively reveal Victor's true fate.

"We cannot confirm nor can we deny Victor is dead. We have shown on the show the ability of people to escape death. We've also shown that people really die," Schwartz said. "Either option is possible for Victor."

Fans may think that the Pride can just use the time machine to turn back time and bring Victor back to life, or at least prevent Janet from shooting him. But, that is not the way their time machine works. "It's not our plan to use a time machine to necessarily undo what we've done on the show," Schwartz explained.

"The way the time machine is constructed, the way we've seen it work, all it can do so far is send messages from the future to the present," executive producer Stephanie Savage added.

Should Victor live, though, it will surely put Chase (Gregg Sulkin) in a difficult position, given that he has struck a sort of bond with his father.

New episodes of "Marvel's Runaways" season 1 air Tuesdays on Hulu.
