'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Elaaden Monolith Guide: How to Activate Planet Purification

Players of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" have been enjoying the new habitats recently made available in BioWare's action role-playing game.

While the main priority is the mission "The Journey to Meridian," gamers can still take part in many of the side quests along the way. One of these is the "Taming A Desert," wherein players will have to restore Elaaden's climate conditions and make it livable.

According to VG247, Elaaden is a planet with an arid and unforgiving landscape. It is the location of New Tuchanka, the outpost the Krogans built after their Nexus defeat. There are reportedly a lot to explore here.

To make the planet habitable, players must activate the monoliths, unlock the Remnant vault and start the purification process. There are three pillars in all and they are located in the far corners of the map. According to US Gamer, while looking for the monoliths, it is best to summon a Nomad, who will then function as shield against the ungodly environment conditions. Players are free to choose which pillar to activate first. Glyphs will be found in the structures.

Once they have been collected, the glyphs need to be scanned. Gamers must solve the first Remnant Puzzle that will pop up. The vault of Elaaden will be visible when the three monoliths are triangulated. Once outside the vault, gamers need to solve another puzzle. If the activation key is correct, the vault will open. There are Remnants inside that must be taken out. Upon reaching another locked door, another puzzle will appear. If successful, one may proceed to the vault's final area and activate the console, starting the Elaaden's purification.

As the planets start to become habitable again, players may continue with the main quest, or opt to try other secondary missions. The second option is reportedly a better choice, especially if a player wants to have more preparations done before the huge "The Journey to Meridian" quest. The different planets will give a lot of opportunities to increase the Andromeda viability.
