'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Gameplay Footage Leaked, Shows Off Graphics, Jetpack and Aliens
Upcoming action role-playing third-person shooter video game "Mass Effect: Andromeda" isn't hitting store shelves until next year but it seems like the fans have been treated to an unexpected first look. According to a report by Techno Buffalo, a snippet of the gameplay of BioWare's forthcoming game has been disclosed in alleged leaked footage shared by All Games Delta.
It did not divulge much but it did show the game's concepts in motion. Game Spot also noted that the reported gameplay footage of the RPG is from a developer's demo reel. Neo GAF user Taker 34 claimed that the footage comes from a certain developer who is currently working on the game. One notable thing featured in the footage is the jetpack ability which gamers can use to jump into the air for a short period of time and traverse through the world.
But the video showing the part of the jetpack is said to be an old footage. Parent Herald reported that though it's a legit footage, it's not part of the new game as it appears to be a scene from the 2014 version. The game does not currently look like it, as well. The full footage also presented a game character confronting a reptilian bipeds known as the Krogan. Unfortunately, the character is seen hacking and coughing to the floor due to the deadly pollen plumes released by the alien.

Moreover, the full video showed a number of effects created such as a meteorite impact for lunar surface, Fume FX diffuse and normal map cycles, different shots for different lighting angles, explosion for barrel, ambient flame bursts, fog elements, rain impacts, and engine VFX. Metro detailed that some parts of the video is an actual gameplay footage while other sequences are cut scenes. The explosion physics are just tech demos.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is supposed to be released in 2016 but Bioware and Electronic Arts have decided to push back the release date to the first quarter of 2017. Fans who are waiting for it will have to stay tuned for updates.
