'Mass Effect: Andromeda' News: Game Set to Land Holiday 2016?

Game developer Bioware recently suffered major losses in terms of important team members who left the company. One thing that tied all three departures together, however, is the developer's upcoming action RPG shooter game, "Mass Effect: Andromeda." According to a report in IGN, Bioware has lost a senior development director, a writer and a lead writer for the game since December last year.

While these departures were said to be in no way connected to the game's development, some quarters are wondering whether this would impact the development and release of the game.

Bioware had earlier announced in the middle of 2015 that the game, which is touted to be a sequel to "Mass Effect 3," will be seeing a Holiday 2016 release. In another report in The Express, the game's publisher, Electronic Arts, revealed that the game will be released between the months of October 2016 to March 2017. With a 2017 date in the equation, there remains a possibility that the title may be coming much later than the holidays.

This also debunks earlier reports that the game is arriving during the summer holiday. In the report, EA also reminded consumers that the months of July to September were dominated by their sports titles, leaving no room for the space-themed shooter.

The game is set long after the events of the original "Mass Effect" trilogy. It is also said to be taking place in the Andromeda galaxy and will feature the players being able to navigate around using a Mako vehicle. The vehicle had previously appeared in earlier games in the series.

Players get to play an N7-armored warrior, which can either be male or female. The player's main mission is to look for a "new home for humanity." According to a report in Neurogadget, the worlds in the game are much bigger than those featured in the previous games.
