'Mass Effect: Andromeda' News: Microtransaction Prices Possibly Revealed, Different 'Andromeda Points' Packs Offered

Blind Card Packs, different pieces of loot to be made available via 'Mass Effect: Andromeda's' microtransactions

Developers have talked a lot recently about the multiplayer component that will be featured in "Mass Effect: Andromeda," and while they've revealed more details about its mechanics and special features, there are still some elements of it that haven't been discussed in full just yet. One of these is how microtransactions may figure into the equation.

The good news is that more details about these microtransactions were seemingly revealed recently after a ShopTo.net page containing them was spotted online.

Specifically, the retailer page lists different packs for things known as "Andromeda Points." These "Andromeda Points" are apparently only usable for multiplayer mode and they may be used instead of the currency players have to earn inside the game.

There are six different packs listed, with the smallest one providing 500 "Andromeda Points" and this comes with a price tag of £3.95 that translates to just a little under $5. The most expensive pack listed is available for £79.96, around $97, and it yields 12000 "Andromeda Points."

It's unclear if these will be the only "Andromeda Points" packs that are offered for the game.

Now, again, these "Andromeda Points" will likely end up only being usable in "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" multiplayer mode.

Meanwhile, the things players may be able to purchase with the "Andromeda Points" were detailed previously.

It was revealed in a Game Informer article that discussed the new game's multiplayer offering that players could be able to purchase things such as Blind Card Packs and particular pieces of loot using real-world money. Blind Card Packs can provide random items, while shopping for specific pieces of loot will enable players to get the exact items they want, provided that they are in the store.

Notably, the Blind Card Packs and the special loot items can also be purchased using currency earned inside the game.

There are still more details about these microtransactions that need to be revealed, and hopefully for fans, those will be shared ahead of "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" official release that will take place on March 21.
