'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Rumors: Game Might Get Patch Upon Early Access Launch Next Month
Developers reveal that they are still working on a patch that is aimed to go live upon the early access release of "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
In a report last week, Dual Shockers shared that lead designer Ian Frazier revealed through Twitter that "a good portion" of the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" team are still working to finish the mentioned patch for the game's day one outing.
Frazier reportedly added that the game patch should be live five days before the game's actual release, just in time for those with early access.
However, game producer Michael Gamble joined the social media conversation to clarify that the patch's release date is not yet certain.
In a reply tweet to Frazier, Gamble said that releasing the talked about patch in time for the first day of early access is "the intention" but "nothing is 100 percent yet."
On the other hand, developers also advised players that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is going to need 45 GB of available space on console and 55 GB on PC.
Meanwhile, it can be recalled that one of the biggest changes that BioWare did for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is removing the Renegade and Paragon morality point system. The change was significant since the system had been a huge part of the "Mass Effect" trilogy where it determined how a player will or can respond to game dialogues.
In a recent interview, PC Gamer talked to Frazier about the instances in the "Mass Effect" trilogy where players cannot influence a conversation when they do not have enough points to determine whether they belong to renegade or paragon. Now that the morality system has been completely removed, the media outlet asked Frazier how this would affect "Mass Effect: Andromeda."
Frazier gave a straight answer that they have "deliberately removed" the said game feature.
The lead designer further explained: "We wanted you to feel like, at any time—there are things you can't say if the story doesn't give you a reason to say it, like you haven't done that thing or met that person, therefore you don't have this option—but only cases like that where it would be nonsensical for you to have that option."
Frazier added, "We don't have a thing where it's like 'you could tell him to back down but you can't because you haven't paragoned enough.' That concept doesn't exist."
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is set to be released on March 21.
