'Masters of Sex' Season 2 Finale Live Stream, Spoilers and News: Season Finale Episode Plot Revealed

Showtime has revealed the synopsis for the final episode of the second season of "Masters of Sex," the series about real-life sex researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The episode is titled "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised."

"Season 2 ends with Masters and Johnson passing the results of their studies on to the world," the synopsis reads.

One major question that fans hope will be answered in the finale is whether there will be a huge breakthrough for Bill and Virginia, seeing as Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan's characters have spent almost the whole season suffering.

TVLine reports that though there is something there between the two characters and that their relationship tends to run hot and cold, the bond between them may turn cold again by the finale even though Bill makes it clear to her that he cares more about her than his wife, Libby.

Libby is also giving in to her own desires to be with someone else. Last week, she almost had revenge on Bill for his cheating habits without really knowing it at the same time. In the final episode, the two of them will lay their cards on the table and they are finally going to be honest with each other. Fans of the show know from the get go that their marriage is not going to work, so is divorce in the future for Libby and Bill?

In other news, the show has been renewed for a third season, so expect the show to come back for 12 more episodes of "Masters of Sex."

The season finale of "Masters of Sex" airs on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. on Showtime, and can be watched online by clicking here.
