Matt Lauer Halting Horse Farm Construction After Spat with L.I. Residents
Longtime NBC "Today" show host Matt Lauer just can't seem to catch as break after reports said a stop work order has been placed his 40-acre horse farm located in his $3.5 million property on Long Island.
In the affluent town of Southampton, N.Y., a stop work order was issued after residents complained that a structure that was slated to be built to accommodate horse trainers was not allowed.
The towns zoning regulations prevent Lauer from constructing a home or other inhabitable dwelling, but the zoning regulations do allow for "structures necessary for agricultural-related business."

"When tearing down the old office they found rot. We need to fix the roof before work can begin again." a source from Lauer's team told The New York Post. "We're not at odds with the town."
Lauer does seem to have grand plans for his horse farm that is thought to include an indoor horse riding ring and luxury stables, according to Daily Mail.
Lauer has made headlines for the wrong reasons in the past few months- most recently after a report emerge detailing that Lauer had been mean to a person that had previously interned for the morning news show.
The rumors of Lauer being "not so nice" started when a local Fox reporter, Mark Zinni, retweeted a message from a follower explaining what his impression of Lauer was. The intern had apparently been with the "Today" show in 1997, which was the same year Lauer became co-host on the show.
Lauer, who is not known for being a massive tweeter, saw the post and responded by tweeting back: "@MarkZinni huh? Always tried to be nice Mark. Sorry you didn't think so. Hope you're doing well. Matt."
