Meek Mill vs Drake: Rick Ross Feud News: Reveals which side he's on
The Meek Mill vs. Drake rap beef has been going on for months now. This time, rapper Rick Ross shares the real deal with his song "Color Money" and which side he's on.
On Dec. 6, USA Today published an article detailing a call with Ross. In that call Ross was asked if his new single "Color Money" was actually a diss on Drake.
The lyric of the song that was thought to diss Drake goes: "My lil' homie made a million on his girl tour / We back to back and down to whack a (expletive) unborn ... So run, Forrest, got some shooters and they dying, too / I got more money than that (expletive) that you're signed to."
"It's supposed to wake the streets up — it was never about me taking sides," Ross said. That would have settled it if not for what he said afterward:
"I am (Maybach Music Group). I'm only on one side. Color Money is doing exactly what it's supposed to do: talk to the streets and the real G's."
Ross' label, Mayback Music Group, handles Meek Mills records. Because of this and based on what he told USA Today, it is clear that he will defend the artists under him over others.
The publication also asked the rapper if he has any problems with ghostwriting. For those who don't know, the Meek Mill vs. Drake rap beef started with a tweet from Meek Mill accusing Drake of using a ghostwriter for his raps. Ross, who ghostwrites for other artists, said that for him personally it was never about getting credit as a writer. At the end of the day, he says, it's all about the music. He doesn't drop names though, but adds he doesn't need any validation or outside credit for the songs he has ghostwritten.
As for Meek Mill and Drake, it looks like their feud is still ongoing. Meek Mill posted a line from Pusha T's "Hold On" on Instagram suggesting how people were playing favorites with Drake. Drake, on the other hand, has kept quiet about the feud since "Back to Back" but has started promotion for his new album "Views From the 6."
