Meghan Markle's Ex-Husband Trevor Engelson Doing Divorce Comedy With a Royal Twist

It looks like Meghan Markle's ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, found a creative inspiration from her romance with Prince Harry. The producer is said to be developing a divorce comedy series for FOX and it will have that royal twist.

Engelson's planned show is about a divorced couple with kids and the ex-wife remarries a British royalty. Although a work of fiction, the still-untitled series gained traction because of its premise and Engelson's history with Markle.

Markle, however, is not attached to the project but Engelson, who is also a producer on the FX's drama "Snowfall," reportedly pitched his idea while musing about sharing custody of the kids with a royal. Helping Engelson out in developing the show are Danny Zuker ("Snowfall"), Jake Kasdan ("New Girl") and Dan Farah ("The Shannara Chronicles").

In real life, Markle and Engleson have no kids during their three-year marriage. The former couple dated for six years before taking the plunge.

Meanwhile, Markle is reportedly set to wed Prince Harry as rumors of their engagement have been buzzing for months. Markle and the Queen Elizabeth's grandson have been dating for over a year.

Markle and Prince Harry made their first official public appearance as a couple during the Invictus Games in Canada over the weekend. Though the couple did not sit next to each other during the ceremonies, Prince Harry and his girlfriend exchanged smiles and glances to acknowledge each other.

Prince Harry also visited the set of his girlfriend's show, "Suits," early in the week. Before her high-profile romance with royalty, Markle is best-recognized for her role as Rachel Zane in the lawyer drama, which she has been part of for seven seasons.

"He was super low-key, met some crew and was so happy to watch his lady," observers revealed. "He's incredibly supportive of her work."

Speculations are that Markle might quit her show after the season is over in preparation for the royal life.
