Meizu m2 Note Specs, Release, Date: Popular Android Midranger Hits Indian Market, Costs Less Than $160

Meizu has recently been making headlines with its super affordable handsets, which are slowly making their way to other markets outside of China. In fact, the pricing strategy of Meizu may be compared to what Xiaomi did a couple of years back, and it is definitely working wonders for the manufacturer.

After announcing the device in China in June, the Meizu m2 Note will be available in India beginning next week. According to a report by IBN Live, the Android-powered smartphone was launched today in India, and would be exclusively available via Amazon India for Rs. 9,999 or about $155 beginning August 10, Monday.

As far as specs are concerned, the Meizu m2 Note is definitely a sight to behold for its price tag. However, for new Meizu fans, it is worth-noting that the device is a successor of the m1 Note, which was announced only in January.

Based on previous reports and reviews, the new Android phablet has an under clocked but newer chipset from MediaTek. This means that while the m1 Note may be slightly faster in processing speed, the m2 Note gets better battery life due to the optimised chipset.

For interested buyers in India, the device packs a 5.5-inch IGZO display with DragonTrail glass, Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a MediaTek MT6753 chipset, octa-core CPU, and an option for either 16GB or 32GB of built-in memory.

For a sub $200 phone, these specs are pretty impressive, but Meizu does not stop there. The m2 Note also has a 13MP Sony-made camera at the back with a dual-tone flash similar to that of Apple's iPhone. There is also a 5MP selfie shooter in front.

Other specs include Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, a pretty big 3,100mAh battery, and dual-SIM compatibility. However, take note that owners should decide whether to use the microSD card slot, or use the dual-nano SIM card slots.
