Melissa McCarthy Weight Loss News Update: Actress Reveals Secret to Losing 75 Pounds
Melissa McCarthy has revealed that her weight loss is due to a combination of a sensible diet and consistent exercise.
According to Life & Style, the "Bridesmaids" actress has been following a strict plan to keep herself fit. McCarthy has reportedly shed 75 pounds after undergoing a high-protein, low-carb diet plan coupled with regular exercise.
Leslie Bonci, a registered dietitian and author of "The Active Calorie Diet," said that there was no "magic" involved with the 47-year-old star's slimming body. McCarthy reportedly spent much time deliberating the best food to eat and preparing them. Most of her meals are composed of protein and produce, with a small side helping of carbs and fruit.
McCarthy, a mother of two, recently flaunted her slimmer figure during the 2017 Emmys last September, when she presented an award with Dave Chapelle. Many praised her fit body draped in a black gown with silver and gold accents. When asked about what she felt after losing 75 pounds, the actress said it might be the best thing she has done.
She also said that it felt amazing, accomplishing something she worked so hard to achieve. In the past, McCarthy said she had no hang-ups regarding her weight. As long as she felt content with her body, she felt sexy.
"I feel sexiest when I feel comfortable, when I feel most myself, when I m not trying to be anything other than who I am," McCarthy said. "[I love] all of it: my flaws, my shortcomings, my body parts that you're like, 'Well, couldn't that be better?' I think, especially after having kids, I go, 'Well, the alternative is pretty bad. I'll take me as I am.'"
Fitness expert and trainer to the stars Joselynne Boschen said that McCarthy is nothing but committed. She has been consistent with her diet, and it showed in her figure. According to Boschen, the first two weeks of the diet is usually hard due to sudden cravings, but once the routine becomes consistent, as with McCarthy's, the next steps are easier.
