Messi is 2nd in Top Scorers List at Copa America 2016 – Who's 1st? The Full List
Lionel Messi scored a fantastic free-kick goal against USA yesterday in a game where Argentina crushed the host team 4-0. Messi now totals 5 goals in Copa America 2016 which places him 2nd to Chilean Eduardo Vargas who currently has 6 goals under his belt.
Argentina is now in the tournament finals and their opponent will be the winner between Chile and Colombia. Both teams face off tonight at Chicago's Soldier Field starting at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The final will take place at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, June 26 starting at 8:00 p.m. ET. Argentine fans will seek to witness whether Messi can top the "goleador" title of the cup and whether Argentina can end their championship drought. Last year, they faced Chile at the Copa America 2015 finals only to lose it in penalties 4 to 1. An year prior to that, they lost against the Germans 1 - 0 at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
